Zlatan Ibrahimovic built one of the most impressive careers in modern football over the course of the past two decades, but all good things must come to an end. The Swedish striker announced his retirement at the age of 41 following his final game with AC Milan. Ibrahimovic’s last season with AC Milan was plagued with injuries, and he recently announced he’ll be leaving the Italian club. He used his last game with the club to address the audience on the San Siro pitch and say goodbye to the beautiful game. The emotional Ibrahimovic was holding back tears while telling the audience “it's the moment to say goodbye to football, not just to you”, adding he's grateful to the AC Milan fans for welcoming him with open arms and making him feel at home. The rumors about potential retirement have been following Ibrahimovic for a while, and he’s happy to finally put them to rest. "I used to be scared when journalists asked by about my future, but now I can accept it, I'm ready. I've been doing this all my life, football made me a man. It allowed me to know people I otherwise would never have known, I've traveled the world thanks to football,” he told journalists after his announcement. Ibrahimovic’s career as a professional football player spans over two decades, and he won 34 trophies and scored over 570 goals. He played for everyone from Barcelona and Manchester United to PSG and AC Milan over the years and netted a total of 511 club goals.
