World Cup 2022: Morocco and France Into Semi-Finals Following Their Explosive Wins

Saturday night was one of the most epic at the Qatar World Cup, with two explosive matches taking place in the span of hours. Morocco made history as the first African team to reach the semi-finals after beating Portugal, while France defeated England to continue their title defense. The match between Morocco and Portugal was one for the books because Morocco managed to emerge as the unexpected winner against Cristiano Ronaldo’s team thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri’s winning goal. With this victory, they’ve reached the semi-finals, becoming the first African nation to come this far at the World Cup. “I think we’re the Rocky of this World Cup… We’ve beaten Spain, Portugal, Belgium without conceding; that’s not a miracle, that’s working hard. We’ve made our people happy and proud, our continent happy and proud,” said Morocco coach Walid Regragui. The match between France and England was truly the battle of the titans, and it marked the end of England’s World Cup hopes. The defending champions France defeated them 2-1, thanks to the goals scored by Aurelien Tchouameni and Olivier Giroud. Semi-finals will kick off on December 13, with the face-off between Argentina and Croatia, while the second semi-finals match will be played one day later between France and Morocco. Winners of these matches will face in the World Cup final, taking place on December 18.
