World Cup 2022: Knockout Stage Kicking Off, England, Brazil, Argentina Among Contenders

The group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been one wild ride, and we’re ready for the next phase of the tournament. The knockout stage is kicking off today with the first matches in the round of 16, and England, Brazil, and Argentina are some of the main contenders for the title. England easily topped Group B, closely followed by the US, and they’ll play their next match against Senegal. As for Team USA, they’ll face Group A winners, the Netherlands, opening the round of 16 and shooting their shot for a spot in the quarter-finals later today. Group C winners Argentina will also play a match tonight, against Group D runner-up Australia. These two matches will determine who’ll make it to the first quarter-finals game, set to take place on December 9. Final group stage matches were played on Friday, and they gave us several pretty epic moments. Cameroon scored a shocking win against Brazil in Group G but still failed to make it to the knockout stage, while South Korea made it to the next phase of the tournament with a sensational win against Portugal, leaving Uruguay and Ghana behind. The round of 16 will end on December 6, while the World Cup will last until December 18.
