Team USA Scores Crucial Qualifying World Cup Win Against Mexico

The U.S. and Mexico are two of the fiercest rivals competing for the Concacaf World Cup title, and their latest clash was pure gold. Team USA managed to come out victorious this time around and finished the game with a 2:0 lead. The U.S. men's national soccer team managed to score this win thanks to the goals from Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie. Pulsic created a lot of commotion during the game with his "man in the mirror" shirt, a dig at the statement made by Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa that Team USA wants to mirror their soccer image. Even without the shirt stunt, Chelsea star Pulsic made quite an impression during the game. He made a glorious comeback after missing most of the Concacaf action for the past two months due to an ankle sprain. "As far as against Mexico, you could argue it's one of our best games. There were moments I felt like we were really dominant and had control of the game. I was really proud of that performance," Pulisic said after the game. Despite USMNT’s latest win, Mexico still sits atop the Concacaf World Cup qualifying standings with 14 points. The U.S. is right behind with 11 points, closely followed by Canada with 10.
