Spain Reaches Nations League Final After Defeating Italy

Italy's set a major Nations League record with their 37-game unbeaten run, but it was just a matter of time before their reign came to an end. That moment finally came on Friday night, when Spain managed to defeat them and secure a place in the Nations League final. If we had to pick a single player responsible for Spain’s amazing triumph, it would definitely be Ferran Torres. The 21-year-old striker proved his worth for the national team by scoring both of the goals that propelled Spain to a big victory against Italy on Wednesday night. Italians tried to make a comeback with Lorenzo Pellegrini’s goal that came seven minutes before the final whistle, but it was too late to turn things around. Italy struggled to make a comeback because they were one player short after Leonardo Bonucci picked up his second yellow card in the 42nd minute. Spain’s victory against Italy is fitting revenge for their defeat in the Euro 2020 semi-finals. Italy won their second title in this tournament after facing England at London’s Wembley Stadium and coming out victorious. Nations League final is set to take place on Sunday. Spain will face the winner of Thursday's game between Belgium and France, while Italy will play against the loser in an attempt to secure third place.
