After four years with the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, Christopher Nkunku is ready for his next big challenge. The French football player is gearing up to make his Premier League debut after signing a six-year contract with Chelsea, reportedly worth £52 million. Nkunku’s deal with Chelsea kicks off on July 1, but seeing him make this shift doesn’t come as a huge shocker. He had already agreed to a pre-contract with the Premier League club in December, and it was just a matter of time before they made things official. Nkunku said he’s incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea, adding he’s looking forward to playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world. “A big effort was made to bring me to the club and I am looking forward to meeting my new coach and teammates and showing the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch… I am very excited for this challenge and will be proud to wear the Chelsea shirt,” he said in a statement. Nkunku made his professional debut with Paris Saint-Germain in 2015, after going through their youth program. He had a pretty successful run with RB Leipzig since joining them in 2019 and scored 16 goals in 25 games in the Bundesliga last season.
