PSG in Trouble After Champions League Round-of-16 Loss to Bayern Munich

Champions League entered the first leg of the round of 16 on Tuesday, and it was quite a disappointing night for Paris Saint-Germain. They lost to Bayern Munich at Parc des Princes after Kingsley Coman's sole goal led the German team to a 1-0 victory. Coman replicated his success from the 2020 Champions League final when his goal also helped Bayern secure a major win against PSG. The outcome wasn’t as spectacular this time around because both teams still have a long way to go before the Champions League final rolls around. PSG’s star-studded line-up didn’t help them stand their ground against Bayern, and even Kylian Mbappe couldn’t save the day after his late effort was ruled out for offside. Bayern’s victory gives them a huge advantage, and the team’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann is very pleased with the team’s performance, but he doesn’t want to get too comfortable before the second leg, taking place on March 8. “We played a really good game in the first 25 minutes. We were a bit surprised that we got the ball so much… It’s not bad, but it doesn’t mean too much. We’re better off than Paris, but we can’t put our feet up now. It plays into our hands that Paris has to do more now,” said Nagelsmann.
