Mbappé Staying with PSG Despite Real Madrid’s €200 Million Offer

Real Madrid was ready to offer €200 million to have Kylian Mbappé join their team, but their plan to have him transfer from Paris Saint-Germain eventually fell through. PSG failed to respond to the Spanish club’s latest offer, but this is just the beginning of Mbappé’s transfer saga. Real Madrid was very eager to sign the French forward this summer, but PSG failed to accept their transfer offer on Tuesday morning. Mbappé’s contract with PSG is set to expire in June 2022, and Madrid bosses are already gearing up to strike a pre-contract agreement with Mbappe in January. Keeping Mbappé may not be a financially viable move for PSG, but it’s a sign they’re seriously working towards their effort to win the Champions League. Earlier this summer, they signed Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi, who made his PSG debut against Reims this weekend. This match also proved why Mbappé is such an essential player for the French team. He scored both goals for PSG, and the head coach Mauricio Pochettino made clear they’re determined to keep him on board. "I think our president and our sporting director were very clear and he is still here. I am really happy to have Kylian. He is one of the best, one of the most important players in the world today, and for him to be with us is a gift," said Pochettino after the game on Sunday.
