Mavericks Will Face Celtics in Their First NBA Finals in 13 Years

It’s been 13 years since the Dallas Mavericks reached their last NBA Finals, and they’ll finally fight for the title again. They thrashed the T-Wolves to make it to the finals, setting a meeting with the Boston Celtics. The Mavericks came into Game 5 with three previous wins under their belt, just one game away from winning the Western Conference. They lived up to expectations, scoring an epic 124-103 win against the T-Wolves, making it to their first NBA Finals since 2011. Following an epic 20-point first quarter, the Mavs’ point guard Luka Doncic finished the game with 36 points, winning the title of NBA Western Conference Finals MVP. Mavericks Coach Jason Kidd was wowed by Doncic’s amazing performance and credited him with lifting up the rest of the team. “He was definitely in ‘Luka Magic’. He set the tone and made it easier for everybody else. He took the crowd out of the game right off the bat. He let his teammates know that it’s time to take it up a notch. As a leader, that’s what you need,” said Kidd. Dallas will now play against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, and their face-off will kick off with Game 1 on June 6.
