Manchester United Scores Zero Goals in Disappointing Match Against Wolves

It seemed like Ralf Rangnick could get Manchester United back on track after joining the team as their interim manager, but they went back to their old ways on Monday night. The Red Devils failed to come out victorious, losing 0-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The first half was pretty uneventful, and it seemed like this face-off would end up in a draw. Joao Moutinho managed to turn things around eight minutes before the final whistle and struck the only goal of the night for the Wolves. To make the whole thing even more humiliating for Manchester, this is the first time since 1980 they lost to the Wolves at Old Trafford. United currently ranks seventh in the Premier League, and the team’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick admitted he cannot guarantee a top-four finish, especially after the disappointing performance against the Wolves. “We didn’t play well at all individually or collectively. Today we showed similar problems the team had three or four weeks ago before I arrived. It is not an easy job to develop a DNA with and without the ball,” said Rangnick after the match. Manchester United remains seventh in the Premier League table with 31 points, and they would have to surpass Tottenham with 33, West Ham with 34, and Arsenal with 35 points to make it to the top four.
