Manchester United Reaches Agreement for Raphael Varane’s Transfer

The rumors about Raphael Varane’s potential transfer to Manchester United have been flying around all summer long, and things are finally official. After an entire decade with Real Madrid, the French football star is ready to say goodbye and head to Old Trafford. Varane has been with Real Madrid since 2011 and has made 360 appearances for the Spanish team since joining them. In an official statement announcing his departure, Real’s representatives thanked him for his “professionalism and exemplary behavior” during his ten seasons with the team. “Real Madrid wants to show all its affection to Raphael Varane and his family and wishes him good luck in this new stage of his professional career,” reads Real Madrid’s official statement. Varane agreed to a transfer fee of $59 million. It’s been reported that he turned down a financially superior offer from Real Madrid to transfer to Manchester because he wanted a fresh challenge. Varane’s arrival is a major win for the Red Devils since he’s often hailed as one of the finest defenders of his generation. In addition to having a successful run with Real Madrid, with four FIFA Club World Cup titles under his belt, he led the French team to the victory at the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
