Manchester United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Fired Amid Dismal Run

After weeks of speculations about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s potential departure from Manchester United following a series of disappointing losses, things are finally official. The Red Devils manager was sacked by the club following United’s embarrassing loss to Watford on Saturday night. After a long emergency meeting following the club’s harrowing 4-1 defeat to Watford, Manchester United released an official statement announcing that Solskjaer has left his role as manager: “Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.” This announcement doesn’t come as a surprise to United’s fans – it's just the aftermath of weeks of mounting pressure and calls for Solskjaer to leave his post. Fans didn’t hide their frustration as Solskjaer led the Red Devils to one disappointing loss after another, including humiliating defeats to rivals Liverpool and Manchester City. Solskjaer has been managing United since 2018 but failed to lead them to triumph this season despite the arrival of such superstars as Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane. Michael Carrick will replace him in the forthcoming games, as the Red Devils look for their next interim manager.
