Liverpool’s Premier League Future in Jeopardy After Shocking Loss to Leicester

Leicester City didn’t exactly have the best track record since the beginning of the Premier League and most people expected them to lose their latest face-off against Liverpool. The Foxes somehow managed to beat the odds and won 1-0, leaving Liverpool’s six points off the top of the Premier League table. Things were looking good for Liverpool at the beginning of the game, but everything went downhill after Mohamed Salah’s 15th-minute penalty was saved by Kasper Schmeichel. After the goalless first half, Ademola Lookman scored the first and only goal of the entire match 59 minutes into the game, leading Leicester to the 1-0 win. Leicester’s manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted to see his team come out victorious and described this game as a huge test of their mentality and spirit and physicality. “There's probably not a team more physical in the league than Liverpool so to come through with a clean sheet and in the way we played showed our resilience. I am lost for words really as it was such a heroic performance in the context of the two games,” said Rodgers after the game. This loss was a huge blow for Liverpool. Their Premier League chances are significantly jeopardized after they failed to hold Leicester off and they’re now six points behind Manchester City.
