Lionel Messi Substituted During Home Debut for Paris Saint-Germain

Ever since Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain, football fans expected him to lead the team to many glorious victories, but that’s not what happened during a recent match against Lyon. The PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino caused quite a stir after deciding to replace him in the second half, but was this the right decision to make? Paris Saint-Germain desperately needed a win after a disappointing draw with Club Bruges, and things were starting to look pretty bleak during their face-off with Lyon. Neymar managed to even out the score, but PSG needed another goal to win a match, and Messi wasn’t going to give them that. With 15 minutes still remaining, Pochettino decided to replace him with Achraf Hakimi, and Messi didn’t look too happy about it. The cameras caught him refusing to shake hands with Pochettino, but the PSG boss claims there are no hard feelings between them. "The decisions in the game are made for the good of the team and each player... At the end of the day, that's why we're here. These are decisions that have to be made by the coach. As for his reaction, I asked him how he was, he said he was okay. That was it. That was our exchange," Pochettino told the reporters after the match. PSG eventually defeated Lyon thanks to Mauro Icardi, who scored the injury-time winner and led the French club to a 2-1 victory.
