Lewis Hamilton Makes History with British Grand Prix Triumph

We haven’t seen Lewis Hamilton win a single race since narrowly losing the World Championship in 2021, but his long-awaited comeback is finally upon us. Hamilton lifted his ninth British Grand Prix this weekend, setting several records in the process. It’s been almost three years since Hamilton’s last victory, and he’s been down on his luck ever since his controversial loss at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which cost him the World Championship. We've seen him face several rocky seasons in the meantime, but he finally made a comeback at his home Grand Prix. He outraced Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to lift the trophy at Silverstone, scoring one of his most emotional wins to date. “There have definitely been moments between 2021 and here when I didn’t feel like I was good enough, or I thought it was never going to happen again. I have never cried coming from a win. It just came out of me. It is a really great feeling and I am really grateful for it,” said Hamilton. This marks Hamilton’s 104th career win and his ninth at home, helping him set a record for most victories at a single circuit. This is also Hamilton’s last British Grand Prix for Mercedes before he moves to Ferrari next year under his new multi-year deal.
