George Russell Wins Austrian Grand Prix Following Norris-Verstappen Crash

This year’s Austrian Grand Prix was unpredictable until the very last second, but George Russell eventually emerged as the winner. He swooped in to win a trophy after Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were involved in a collision while fighting for the lead. Verstappen took pole position and entered the race as the clear frontrunner, but his luck turned when he made contact with Norris in the closing stages of the race. Their collision left a clear path for Russell to lift the trophy in Austria, winning his second Formula 1 title. Russell said that he’s proud to be back on top after winning in Austria and expressed hope that Mercedes will be able to keep winning as they head into his home Grand Prix. “The team have done an amazing job to get us in this fight. You’ve got be there at the end to pick up the pieces, and that’s where we were… The team have worked so hard, we’ve made so many strides since the start of the season. The last three races have been incredible, so more to come!” said Russell after the race. This marks the first Formula 1 win for the Brit since he won his first title at the 2022 São Paulo Grand Prix and the thirteenth podium finish of his career.
