Gabriel Martinelli Leads Arsenal to 4-1 Win Against Leeds United

Several Premier League matches set for his weekend were canceled in the face of the most recent COVID surge, but that didn’t stop Arsenal and Leeds United from facing each other. The Gunners scored an easy win against injury-hit Leeds on Saturday, largely thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s dominant performance. Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal 16 minutes into the game, followed by another goal about ten minutes later. Leeds struggled to make a comeback as the game continued, especially after Bukayo Saka‘a goal made it 3-0 before half-time. Raphinha's penalty shot gave Leeds their only goal of the game, but it was too late for the comeback. Arsenal eventually won 4-1, after Emile Smith Rowe scored the final goal for his side a few minutes before the final whistle. Arsenal and Leeds are the only two Premier League teams to face each other on Saturday, after a series of postponements due to Covid-related reasons. Arsenal's manager Mike Arteta acknowledged they're coming off a tough week, but added he's proud of the effort of his players. "It was a really tough week but really positive with performances and results. We must be happy today. They had to play the most physical team in the league and they had to be ready,” said Arteta.
