France Beats Belgium to Reach Nations League Final

The latest Nations League face-off between France and Belgium was one for the books, and things were unpredictable until the very last moment. France eventually secured a place in Sunday night’s final against Spain thanks to the last-minute strike from Theo Hernandez. Things were looking pretty bleak for France in the first half, as Belgium took a 2-0 lead thanks to the two goals scored by Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku. France managed to turn things around in the second half and recovered after Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe scored two goals. Hernandez eventually led them to victory with a superb 90th-minute winner. Coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, acknowledged they struggled in the first half, but said this was one of the best games he witnessed since joining the team in 2012. "It's one of the best because of how it unfolded, because of the quality of our opponents. Despite the adversity, we had the pride and the character to turn it around. It is a great, great moment," said Deschamps after the game. France will get its chance to secure a win in the Nations League final on Sunday night, when they’re set to face Spain at San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy.
