Euro 2024: Spain, Germany, France & England Through to Quarter-Finals

The knockout stage of Euro 2024 came to an end this Tuesday night, and we finally know who’ll face the music in the quarter-finals. Spain vs. Germany and Portugal vs. France are some of the most interesting quarter-final match-ups coming our way in just a few days. Spain easily cruised to the next round of competition after scoring a confident 4-1 win against Georgia in the round of 16. They’ll face Germany in Stuttgart on July 5, but their opponents will have a home advantage again after beating Denmark 2-0 in the knockout stage. July 5 will also mark the face-off between Portugal and France, two of the most star-studded teams in Euro 2024. Portugal made it through after a dramatic match with Slovenia, which ended with a penalty shootout, while France defeated Belgium 1-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals. The Netherlands was one of the countries to easily make it to the next round after demolishing Romania 3-0. They’ll face Turkey in Berlin on July 6, following their 2-1 win against Austria. England and Switzerland will also meet on July 6 in Düsseldorf. The Swiss team eliminated the defending champions Italy on their way to the quarter-finals. As for England, they barely made it through but eventually managed to score a dramatic 2-1 overtime win against Slovakia. The UEFA Euro 2024 will come to an end with the final at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on July 14.
