Andy Murray Misses Out On Qatar Open Title to Daniil Medvedev

Andy Murray was gunning for his first ATP Tour title in more than three years at the Qatar Open, but his hopes were crushed in the final. The 35-year-old British tennis legend was defeated by Daniil Medvedev in the tournament’s final match. Murray was on top of his game since the Qatar Open kicked off, but he failed to stand his ground to Medvedev. The face-off between the two ended in a 6-4 6-4 win a straight-set defeat for Murray and marked the end of his hopes to win his first ATP Tour title in over three years. Murray praised Medvedev following the match, saying he’s one of his favorite players to watch right now. Despite failing to defeat him and lift the trophy, the Briton was still pretty satisfied with his performance in Doha. "Obviously it didn't finish how I wanted but I had some amazing matches and created some great memories. I am proud of my week and the work me and my team have done to get me back at this stage," said Murray. This marks the third meeting between Medvedev and Murray, and the Russian player came out victorious every time. His win at the Qatar Open comes less than a week since he won the Rotterdam Open last Sunday.
