Aaron Judge Out with Injury with No Timetable For Potential Return

The New York Yankees gave Aaron Judge the largest free agent deal in MLB history, but they’ll have to play without him for the foreseeable future. The superstar outfielder is out with a toe injury, and manager Aaron Boone said there’s no timetable for his return. Judge was placed on the injured list this Wednesday, after sustaining the injury while making a catch during Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He sustained a contusion and ligament sprain in his right big toe, and it’s unclear when he’s going to go back to playing. "We don't have the timeline. We don't know. He got a shot in his toe yesterday. I don't have an answer for you. When we do, we'll give you the best timeline we possibly can. There's no timetable, really, which I think is best because there's a couple of things going on in there," Aaron Boone said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. Judge has been with the Yankees since the start of his professional MLB career in 2016, but keeping him on board wasn’t easy. He was set to become a free agent at the end of last season, and the Yankees convinced him to stay by offering him a nine-year deal worth $360 million, which became the largest free agent deal in MLB history.
