Vince Dunn Signs Four-Year Deal with Seattle Kraken to Avoid Arbitration

Vince Dunn was on top of his game this past season, and the Seattle Kraken were determined to bring him back for another ride. They managed to avoid an arbitration hearing by giving Dunn an offer he couldn’t refuse – a four-year extension worth $29.4 million. Dunn’s previous contract came with a $4 million cap, and his salary arbitration hearing was scheduled for Monday before he agreed to this lucrative extension. His new deal with the Kraken has an average annual value of $7.35 million, and it’s well-deserved since he’s fresh off his breakout season. Dunn hit a career-high 14 goals and 64 points in 81 games with Seattle this past season. Kraken general manager Ron Francis previously praised Dunn for being a big part of the team’s success this season, adding he matured both as a person and as a player on the ice. "He came in last year maybe not where he needed to be. And I think there's a process that goes to kind of learning and gaining the trust of what the coaches are trying to do with you and you with the coaches and I think he's worked hard at it,” said Francis.
