Tyson Fury Announces Retirement Three Days After Teasing His Return

Tyson Fury’s idea of retirement is pretty loose, but it seems that he’s finally ready to walk away from boxing for good. Only three days after teasing his return to the ring, the two-time world heavyweight champion announced he’s ready to hang up the gloves. Fury celebrated his birthday by reaffirming his decision to retire. "On my 34th birthday I say bon voyage," he tweeted on Friday and sent massive thanks to everyone who had an input in his career over the years. Fury’s retirement doesn’t come as a shocker since it’s not the first time he announced his decision to leave boxing behind. He vowed to retire after beating Dillian Whyte to retain his WBC title back in April. "This might be the final curtain for the Gypsy King. I've spent a lot of time on the road. I've been away for a long time. I fulfilled everything I've ever wanted to fulfill,” Fury said back at the time. Fury’s retirement saga has been pretty confusing since his latest announcement comes only three days after he teased his return. The British boxer said he’s ending his retirement to fight Derek Chisora, whom he already defeated twice, but later backtracked on this decision.
