Trade Rumors for Philadelphia 76ers’ Ben Simmons Heating Up Again

The Philadelphia 76ers have been trying to cut ties with Ben Simmons for a couple of months now, and it finally seems they’re close to succeeding. Rumor has it that trade conversations are heating up again, but where could he go next? According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, “Sixers are gathering momentum in recent days in trade conversations revolving around Simmons” and they’re hoping to land a Top 25 player in exchange. This new development comes shortly after 84% of NBA players became eligible to be traded on Wednesday. When it comes to Simmons, Wojnarowski reported that “more teams engaged” and that “more two and three-way deal structure talks [are] ongoing”. One team that Simmons probably won’t be traded to? The Portland Trail Blazers. They reportedly already told the 76ers that All-NBA guard Damian Lillard is off the table during trade talks, because they have no interest in dropping him for another player. This is just the most recent development in the ongoing Simmons drama. Rumors about his potential trade have been circling around ever since August when he declared he no longer wants to play for the 76ers. Following this announcement, he missed training camp, preseason games, and failed to join the team once the season kicked off after refusing to cooperate during practice.
