Philadelphia 76ers Down 0-2 After Losing Another Game to Miami Heat

The Philadelphia 76ers have been struggling to power through the playoffs in Joel Embiid’s absence, and their latest game resulted in another defeat. The Sixers fell into a 0-2 hole after losing Game 2 to the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. The Heat scored a confident 119-103 win in their second playoffs face-off with Philadelphia. They previously defeated Atlanta Hawks to secure a place in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and they’ll most likely reach the next round unless the Sixers make an epic comeback in their upcoming games. Tyrese Maxey was the game’s top scorer with a total of 34 points, but that wasn’t enough to put the Sixers in the lead. The Heat was better overall, with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler scoring 23 and 22 points, respectively, leading the team to their latest win. This defeat comes shortly after the Sixers stayed without their top scorer and MVP runner-up Joel Embiid. He’s taking time to recover from a facial fracture and concussion that he suffered against the Toronto Raptors last week, and the team’s coach Doc Rivers isn’t sure when he’s coming back. "He looked good, as far as talking. But he's got so many steps to go through, and I don't think he's cleared any of them right now. So we just have to wait and see," said Rivers on Wednesday.
