Novak Djokovic is no stranger to breaking records, and he managed to do it once again at the Paris Masters on Sunday. Serbian tennis icon scored his record-breaking 37th Masters title after defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final. This tournament gave Djokovic a chance to avenge himself after losing US Open to Medvedev, together with a chance to achieve calendar Grand Slam back in September. The Serb was superior this time around and defeated Medvedev 4-6 6-3 6-3 to win a record sixth Paris Masters title. As if that wasn’t enough, Djokovic also clocked his seventh year-end number one ranking, breaking the record previously held by Pete Sampras, and said he’s very blessed to be in this position. "Obviously that was one of the biggest goals, and it's always one of the biggest goals, to try to be number one and end the season as number one. To do it for the record seventh time and surpass my childhood idol and role model Pete is incredible,” Djokovic told reporters. He also surpassed Rafale Nadal to win his 37th Masters title, which is a current record for most Masters wins. The Spaniard dropped to the second spot with a total of 36 Masters titles, and he’s followed by Roger Federer with 28.
