Nikola Jokic Becomes Sixth Player in NBA History to Reach 100 Triple-Doubles

Nikola Jokic is no stranger to setting new NBA records, and he managed to reach another major milestone on Tuesday night. The two-time reigning MVP became the sixth player in NBA history to reach 100 career triple-doubles during the Denver Nuggets’ latest win over the Houston Rockets. Jokic registered 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists on Tuesday night, helping Denver beat Houston 133-112. This marked his league-leading 24th triple-double of the 2022-23 season, but that wasn’t the only impressive thing about it. Jokic is currently only the sixth player in NBA history to reach 100 triple-doubles, joining in the ranks of Russell Westbrook (198), Oscar Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138), Jason Kidd (107) and LeBron James (106). When asked what this milestone meant to him, Jokic jokingly said “not bad for a stat-padder”. He stayed pretty humble in the face of another major record and downplayed his latest achievement. “I appreciate how we played. That’s what I appreciate… Achievements, awards, contracts, or whatever, it’s just – I don’t want to say coming naturally – but you don’t chase it. It’s really nice. I think it’s going to be the best when you finish (your) career and just look behind you and see what you did,” said Jokic post-match.
