Max Verstappen Makes Epic Comeback to Win Hungarian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen came into many races this season as a clear front-runner, but that wasn’t the case with the Hungarian Grand Prix. He started the race from 10th place on the grid but managed to make an epic comeback and walked away with another trophy. Verstappen had power unit problems in the qualifying round that left him far behind his rivals. George Russell took the pole position, followed by Ferrari’s duo Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc, while the Dutch driver was all the way back in the 10th spot. The odds definitely weren’t in his favor, but Verstappen managed to race his way back to the top in one of the best comebacks of the season so far. “I think nobody really expected this, but we said to each other we have to remain calm before the race, and I think we did that; we made all the right calls and the race was a bit hectic,” said Verstappen post-race. The podium at the Hungarian Grand Prix looked the same as in France last week, with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and George Russell taking the second and third spots, respectively. This victory significantly extended Verstappen’s lead, and he’s 80 points ahead of Charles Leclerc in the World Championship race.
