The Detroit Lions’ quest to win their latest NFC North title has been pretty long, but it finally came to an end. The Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night to clinch their first division title in 30 years. It’s been three decades since Detroit captured their last divisional title in 1993, in what was then known as the NFC Central. The team became part of the NFC North in 2002, and they can now finally call themselves NFC North champions following the 30-24 win against the Vikings. Two rushing touchdowns from Jahmyr Gibbs significantly contributed to the Lions’ latest triumph. The rookie running back also had great support from wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who caught his eighth touchdown of the season. The Lions's coach Dan Campbell addressed the reporters following the team’s historic triumph and said this win is quite special because it’s something you don’t get to do all the time. "They’re always special to win a division, I don’t care how many of them you get cause of the work that goes into it. But to do something that hasn’t been done in 30 years for a team is special. And that’s a special group of men back in there that are staying tame at this point," said Campbell.
