Lewis Hamilton Scores His 100th Formula One Win at Russian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton broke countless Formula One records throughout his career, but his latest is the most epic one yet. The British racing driver became the first person ever to reach 100 Formula One wins after being crowned as the Russian Grand Prix champion this weekend. The seven-time World Champion described his historic victory as a special moment for every member of his Mercedes team and said he feels incredibly grateful for the amazing support that he received. "It's taken a long time to get to 100 and at times, I wasn't sure it would come. It is a magical moment. I could only have dreamed of still being here, to have this opportunity to win these races, and to drive with such phenomenal talents this late on in my career," stated Hamilton. He managed to finish 53 seconds ahead of the second-placed Max Verstappen, while also retaking the championship lead from the Dutch driver. He’s now two points ahead of Verstappen, but it’s too early to call the race since there are seven more rounds to go. Hamilton’s triumph at the Russian Grand Prix marks his first win since the British Grand Prix in July. It’s also his fifth win of the season since he also came out victorious at the Bahrain, Portuguese, and Spanish Grand Prix.
