LeBron James Tops Forbes' List of Highest-Paid NBA Players For 2022-2023 Season

Despite the Lakers’ disastrous season, LeBron James remains the highest-paid player in the NBA. Forbes unveiled their list of the highest-paid NBA stars entering the 2022-23 season, and King James is leading the way for the ninth year in a row. James reached the top with an estimated $124.5 million in total earnings, and it turns out he earned more money off the court than on it. His annual salary stands at $44.5 million, but he also racked up an additional $80 million for his many lucrative endorsement deals. This news comes about three months after James signed a two-year contract extension with the LA Lakers worth $97.1 million, despite failing to lead them to the playoffs this past season. This deal made him the highest-paid athlete in NBA history with $528.9 million in all-time earnings, breaking the record previously held by Kevin Durant. As for the rest of Forbes’ list, the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry took the second spot with $95.1 million. He has a league-high salary of $48.1 million a year, in addition to $47 million in endorsement deals. The Brooklyn Nets' Kevin Durant ($88 million), the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo ($86.5 million), and the Lakers' Russell Westbrook ($82.1 million) round out the top five on the list.
