LeBron James to Miss Several Games Due to NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols

LeBron James missed several games with the Los Angeles Lakers since the beginning of the season, and he’s getting ready to face another major setback. The iconic player entered the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and he’ll most likely have to miss several games. James missed Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, and it seems that’s just the beginning. He could miss as many as 10 days per the league’s health and safety protocols, but he could come back sooner if he registers two negative COVID-19 tests in a 24-hour span. Back in September, James revealed that he is vaccinated, joining about 97% of NBA players who are fully vaccinated. He said he was very skeptical about the vaccine at first, but decided to get it after doing his research because he felt it was best suited for him and his family. James already missed several games this season due to injuries and a recent suspension following an altercation with Detroit Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart. According to his teammate Anthony Davis, James feels good and he’s asymptomatic, and he’s hoping they’ll find a way to win without him. “We can’t let that affect us. Obviously, he’s a huge part of our team. But we’ve played a huge amount of games without him. So we kind of know how that is already. We’ve got to continue to play like we did on the defensive end until he’s able to come back,” said Davis.
