Kevin Durant Scores 31 Points in Return, But Fails to Lead Nets Past Heat

Kevin Durant rejoined the Brooklyn Nets after missing 21 games due to sprained MCL and made an impressive comeback with 31 points. Despite his best efforts, his return was spoiled by the Nets’ 113-107 loss to the Miami Heat. It was a great night for Durant, who netted 31 points, four assists, and four rebounds in just 35 minutes on the court. He was the game’s top scorer, but the Nets still struggled to prove their dominance, with several key players missing the game. Star guard Kyrie Irving missed the game due to New York’s vaccine mandates, while newcomer Ben Simmons still hasn’t been cleared to join the team. The Heat eventually won 113-107, with Bam Adebayo finishing the game with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. It was also a big night for Tyler Herro with 27 points, Caleb Martin with 22, and Max Strus with 21. This marks Durant’s first game in six weeks after the sprained MCL in his left knee forced him to take a break in mid-January. Despite his failure to lead his team to another win, the twelve-time All-Star was satisfied with his performance. "I felt great. I felt great. I'm only going to get better, more comfortable out there. Take more of a load out there, too – when I get more games under my belt – so I felt solid," said Durant.
