Kawhi Leonard Signs Four-Year Deal with the Clippers, Worth Reported $176.3 Million

It's been two years since Kawhi Leonard joined the Los Angeles Clippers, and he won't be changing his uniform anytime soon. The All-Star player is sticking around in LA after signing a four-year deal with the Clippers, reportedly worth a total of $176.3 million. It was expected that Leonard will remain with the Clippers, and his new contract includes a player option for the final season. Unfortunately, we won't get to see him play for a significant portion of the 2021-22 season due to his recent surgery to repair a partially torn ACL. The extension of Leonard's contract has been announced by the team's president of basketball operations, Lawrence Frank. He described Kawhi as a "transcendent player and a relentless worker" and said they share many of the same goals, which include a long-term relationship. "This agreement marks another important moment for our franchise and our fans, as we strive to create a championship-caliber organization, where players find the success and fulfillment they seek. We're eager to continue building with Kawhi," said Frank. Before joining the Clippers in 2019, Leonard had a successful run with the San Antonio Spurs and spent one season with the Toronto Raptors. His run with the Clippers has been pretty epic thus far, and he averaged 26 points, 6.8 boards, five assists, and 1.7 steals over 109 appearances with the team.
