Kansas City Chiefs Claim Eighth Straight AFC West Title
by privatebet.com - 2024/01/03
The Kansas City Chiefs entered this NFL season as the defending Super Bowl champions, and they’re living up to the hype. The Chiefs scored an epic win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night to clinch their eighth straight AFC West title at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bengals were off to a 10-point lead after Jake Browning’s touchdown run, but they blew it all up. Patrick Mahomes had 245 yards passing and a touchdown for Kansas, Isiah Pacheco ran 18 times for 130 yards, while Rashee Rice had five catches for 127 yards, eventually leading their side to an epic 25-17 win. Mahomes acknowledged the fact that clinching the title didn’t feel easy this time around after they’ve faced many struggles throughout the season. "We had to battle through adversity and find a way to win this game, but it's not over. We have to continue to get better and better… Now we're in the playoffs, it's one game, single elimination, and I think we can go out and compete with anybody," said Mahomes. The Chiefs’ division title streak kicked off in 2016, and it’s shaping up to be quite historic. It’s the second longest in NFL history behind the New England Patriots' 11 consecutive AFC East championships from 2009 to 2019.
