Jonathan Allen Signs a Massive $72 Million Deal with Washington

Jonathan Allen has been with the Washington Football Team since 2017, and he won’t be saying goodbye to his teammates anytime soon. The defensive tackle signed a massive deal worth $72 million, agreeing to spend the next four years playing for Washington. Allen recently entered the final year of his rookie contract, and he was due $10.1 million, but his next paycheck will be much bigger. According to reliable sources, it took a while for the deal to be finalized, as Allen's side wouldn’t budge because the extension had to be at least $18 million per season. That brings his new four-year contract to $72 million, with a $30 million signing bonus. Allen celebrated the news of his lucrative contract extension by tweeting, “Washington for life!!” He’s been part of the team since 2017 and has proven himself as the key player of the team’s standout defense, with 17 sacks and 202 tackles over four seasons. By securing Allen for a four-year extension, Washington made sure to keep their defensive line solid. This is more crucial than ever as Allen’s fellow starting defensive tackle Daron Payne is entering the final year of his contract in 2022, unless the team extends it.
