Joel Embiid Scores Season-High 43 Points as 76ers Defeat Hornets

The Philadelphia 76ers have been trying to get back on track since Joel Embiid’s return, and they scored another memorable win on Monday night. The 76ers pulled out a 127-124 overtime win against the Charlotte Hornets thanks to Embiid’s valiant efforts to lead them to victory. The four-time NBA All-Star had the best game of the season, as he scored season-high 43 points for the 76ers. He also had 15 rebounds, seven assists, and one steal against the Hornets. Embiid’s dominant performance comes shortly after he missed three weeks of action last month due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. He discussed his recovery in the post-game interview and admitted he’s struggling to give it his all. “I'm not even close to [100 percent]. I'm still feeling it. I get tired easily, feel pretty weak. Every single day [I'm] slowly getting better. So I just got to keep pushing myself. My teammates, they push me,” said Embiid. Despite Embiid’s best efforts, the 76ers didn’t have an easy time defeating the Hornets. Kelly Oubre Jr. had a standout game and scored 35 points, but failed to lead the Hornets to victory, as they played without five key players.
