Jamal Adams Secures a $70 Million Deal with the Seattle Seahawks

Jamal Adams has proven himself as a key player for the Seattle Seahawks in 2020, and he won’t be cutting ties with this NFL team anytime soon. He became NFL's highest-paid safety after signing a four-year contract extension with the Seahawks, at a maximum value of $72 million. In addition to becoming the highest-paid player at his position, Adams also managed to secure a $38 million guaranteed. His new contract extension will leave him with an average of $17.5 million per year, breaking the record previously held by Broncos' safety Justin Simmons with $15.25 million per year. Adams has been reportedly negotiating with the Seahawks since the end of the 2020 season, but finally struck a deal this Tuesday and admitted it’s “a block off [his] shoulders” to finalize the contract extensions. "Just so excited to be a part of such a unique organization. Always been a fan, still a fan. But it just makes it that much better that I'm a part of the family now. So I'm ready to go win some championships," said Adams in a statement. The 25-year-old safety has been with the Seahawks since 2020. He joined the team after a blockbuster trade with the New York Jets, when the Seahawks gave up two first-round picks to secure him.
