It’s been over 15 years since the Edmonton Oilers made it to the Western Conference final, and the change is finally underway. They’re one step closer to making it to the Stanley Cup Finals after defeating the Calgary Flames in Game 5 on Thursday night. The Oilers were a clear favorite to make it to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2006, but they didn’t have an easy time scoring a win in Game 5. Their latest face-off with the Flames was pretty chaotic, but Connor McDavid somehow managed to lead them to a 5-4 victory in overtime. "I was bad all night. I was riding the coattails of my teammates. They gave me a great opportunity to get it in overtime. I'm just so happy to contribute in this one," said McDavid after the game. The latest face-off between Edmonton and Calgary wasn’t short on drama. One of the biggest shockers came when they set a new NHL record for the fastest four goals scored in the playoffs, after only 71 seconds. The Edmonton Oilers will face either the Colorado Avalanche or the St. Louis Blues in the Western Conference final. Colorado is currently in a 3-2 lead, but St. Louis could turn things around by defeating them in the next two games.
