Cricket World Bids Farewell to Australian Legend Shane Warne

Australian cricket player Shane Warne, who went down in history as one of the greatest leg-spinners of all time, has died at the age of 52. Many important cricket figures bid farewell to the iconic Australian cricketer and sent condolences to his family following his tragic passing. Warne’s management company released a statement announcing his death of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand on Friday: "Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course." Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison was one of many public figures who sent condolences to Warne's family and offered a state funeral for the legendary cricketer. The Australian women's cricket team wore black to commemorate him in their first 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup game, and so did the Australian men's cricket team in their recent game against Pakistan. Warne made his Test cricket debut against India in 1992 and went on to take 708 Test wickets, the most by any Australian, and the second-most of all time by any player. He took part in 145 matches across a 15-year international career. He retired from international cricket following Australia’s Ashes series victory over England in 2007 but kept on playing Twenty20 franchise cricket and working as a cricket coach and commentator.
