Chiefs in Contention for AFC's No. 1 Seed After Defeating Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs faced one of their biggest rivals, the Denver Broncos, on Saturday and managed to score a 28-24 win. They’re still in contention for AFC’s no. 1 seed after this victory, and their ranking will be determined by the outcome of Sunday’s face-off between the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans. The bitter rivalry between the Chiefs and the Broncos continued on Saturday and resulted in the 13th consecutive win for Kansas City. The Broncos were ahead 21-20, but rookie linebacker Nick Bolton helped the Chiefs make a comeback with his 86-yard fumble return midway through the fourth quarter. The Chiefs will still have a hard time securing the pole position in the AFC playoffs because they need the Texans to upset the Titans on Sunday. If that doesn’t happen, they’ll have to host a wild-card game next weekend after being ranked as the second seed. The Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said they’re ready to go “wherever against whomever” after coming this far, and the team’s head coach Andy Reid feels the same way. “All in all, a good win and an important win for the Kansas City Chiefs and we’ll see what we have by tomorrow night, who we’re playing. We sure look forward to bringing back a playoff game back to Arrowhead in front of our fans,” said Reid.
