Carlos Alcaraz Scores His First Glass Title in Queen's Final

Carlos Alcaraz’s track record is pretty impressive given his age, but he didn’t have much luck on grass... until now! The 20-year-old Spaniard will enter Wimbledon as the top seed after scoring his long-awaited first glass title at the Queen's Club Championships. Queen's is one of the Wimbledon warm-up tournaments, and Alcaraz did a great job setting the stage for this Grand Slam on Sunday. After entering this event as the top seed, he easily cruised past the competition and lifted his first trophy on grass after defeating Alex de Minaur in the final. Alcaraz said it feels great to see his name on the trophy after joining many legends who have won this tournament. This victory carries extra weight because it marks his first grass title, and he had to significantly adjust his movements to adapt to playing on this surface. "I have played 11 matches in my career on grass, so I have to get more experience, more hours. But obviously after beating amazing guys, great players, and the level that I played, I consider myself one of the favorites - or one of the players to be able - to win Wimbledon," said Alcaraz. The Spanish player reclaimed no. 1 in the ATP rankings following this win, and he’ll enter Wimbledon as the top seed ahead of the defending champion Novak Djokovic.
