Brooklyn Nets Bringing Kyrie Irving Back for Road Games

Kyrie Irving set out all the Brooklyn Nets games this season after refusing to get vaccinated, but he’s poised for a comeback. As the Nets lost a number of players to injuries and health and safety protocols, they decided to bring Irving back for road games outside of New York. Before rejoining the team, Irving will have to test negative on five successive days and proceed with testing every day as an unvaccinated player. He can join practices in New York, but he can’t take part in games per state’s mandates, so he’ll only be eligible to play in select road games. Irving’s comeback has been announced by the Nets’ general manager Sean Marks, who explained they arrived at this decision with the full support of their players and after careful consideration of their current circumstances. "We believe that the addition of Kyrie will not only make us a better team but allow us to more optimally balance the physical demand on the entire roster. We look forward to Kyrie's return to the lineup, as well as getting our entire roster back together on the court," said Marks. This announcement comes shortly after the Nets lost seven players to injuries and health and safety protocols. Inordinate minutes load on their superstar players also came into play, with Kevin Durant and James Harden both missing the teams’ next game against Orlando Magic.
