Andy Murray Has No Timescale For His Return After Ankle Injury

2024 is shaping up to be a pretty rocky year for Andy Murray, and his potential retirement is lurking on the horizon. The three-time Grand Slam champion recently addressed his plans for the future and said there’s no clear timescale for his return following a recent ankle injury. Murray recently suffered a third-round defeat at the Miami Open, and this match resulted in a major injury. After rupturing his ankle ligaments, the 36-year-old tennis player decided to miss several clay-court events in April, including the Monte Carlo Masters and BMW Open in Munich. According to Murray’s spokesperson, he made this decision following a consultation with medical experts, and there’s no date set for his return. "At this stage, it is still not clear how long Andy will be out of action, and he is continuing to review options with his medical team. Obviously, this is very disappointing news for Andy and he has reiterated his desire to get back on court as soon as possible," reads his official statement. The 36-year-old Murray expressed hope that he’ll compete at another Olympic Games and make one final French Open appearance before his retirement. He has two golden Olympic medals under his belt, in addition to two wins at Wimbledon and one at the US Open.
