After another round of retirement rumors, it turns out that Aaron Rodgers isn’t leaving the NFL, but simply changing sides. After spending his entire professional career with the Green Bay Packers, the four-time MVP announced he wants to play for the New York Jets next season. The Packers quarterback made an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" and gave a lengthy interview about his plans for the future. He considered retirement and “contemplated a lot of different things” after his team missed the postseason, eventually realizing it was time to start a new chapter in a different city. "I made it clear my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets, and I haven't been holding anything up… Because I still have that fire and I want to play, I'd like to play in New York, it's just a matter of getting that done at this point," said Rodgers. He also revealed that other teams have expressed interest in trading for him, so why pick the Jets of all places? He said “there's one coach who has meant as much to me as any coach I've ever had”, referring to Green Bay’s former offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who joined the Jets earlier this year. Rodgers’s trade to the Jets is yet to be finalized, and they’re still working through the final stages of a potential deal with the Packers, where he spent 18 seasons.
