Aaron Gordon Agrees to $92 Million Extension with Denver Nuggets

Aaron Gordon has been on quite a journey since joining the Denver Nuggets earlier this year, and he’s ready for more. The basketball player agreed to a four-year extension with this NBA team, reportedly worth $92 million. According to ESPN, Gordon’s new deal includes $88 million in base salary and $4 million in incentives. The extension kicks in for the 2022-23 season, and The Athletic reported that it comes with a player option for Gordon’s final year in 2025-26. This will mark Gordon's eighth season in the NBA. After playing college basketball for the University of Arizona, he was picked by the Orlando Magic in the 2014 NBA draft. He spent the majority of his professional career with this team, before being traded to the Nuggets earlier this year. He was acquired together with Gary Clark, in exchange for guards Gary Harris and RJ Hampton and a future first-round pick. Gordon’s run with the Nuggets has been pretty successful so far. He made his debut on March 28 and helped the team secure a win against the Atlanta Hawks, by scoring 13 points and two rebounds in 21 minutes on the court. According to ESPN, he averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 25 games with Denver.
